Try quick workouts.

As long as you're totaling 30 minutes of exercise each day, several brief workouts are fine.

Sip smarter.

The average 12-ounce can of regular soda contains about 150 calories and 38 grams of carbohydrates—the equivalent of more than nine teaspoons of sugar. Replace your soda with herbal iced tea or seltzer water with just a splash of cranberry juice. Both drinks are low in calories but still refreshing and tasty.

Monitor your blood sugar carefully.

Drugs that cause your body to make more insulin can sometimes cause low blood sugar, a potentially dangerous situation you want to guard against. Be aware of your blood sugar level so you can take action if it starts to dip too low.

Consume proper proportions.

Keep portion sizes under control by dividing your plate. Fill one half with vegetables, and split the other half into two quarters. Fill one quarter with a lean protein (fish, skinless poultry, beans, or tofu) and the other with a grain or starch-based side dish (brown rice, whole-wheat pasta, or bread).

Check expiration dates of medications.

You’ll probably be refilling prescriptions and using them up fairly regularly, but periodically check expiration dates on products you've had around for a while. Be sure to discard any that are past their expiration date.

Their billing department is incapable of getting simply orders right. Constant miscommunications and mistakes. Very rude also. Go literally anywhere else if possible.

As many of the reviews say on here everything started out well but went downhill fast. Wait times to get my supplies have been going up and up with my last one having me wait two weeks (and 3 calls) before getting anywhere. Out of my last 4 orders, 3 of them have been missing supplies or included supplies that I never ordered. The incompetency and decline in service quality is pretty astounding. Avoid if you can.

I have been a customer of this company for over a year. I tried to get a re-supply of sensors for my daughter. I signed up for auto-fill, but that is not really auto-fill. It needs to be Easy Touch as well (signed up for it and had to call to remind them to activate it on my account). Now, it is 7-10 days from 3/20/2020 to get a refill (when your 90 day supply runs out on the 20th). Or, at least I was told 7-10 days from 3/20/2020 on 3/23/2020. Today, I was told it would at best go out on 3/30/2020 (10 days) with shipping on top of it. I was told they were busy due to an influx of new customers. I am so glad the new customers are being taken care of while the existing customers are apparently being shorted. Apparently, it is my job to babysit them and keep on calling them as they did not even have all my documents on file (like a new copy of my insurance card). I just really needs supplies on time and do not feel like this company is doing a good job managing existing customer relationships. I just wish there were more choices out there for Dexcom G6 supplies to make suppliers work harder, but every company I have ordered from needs constant follow-up (Insulet and their service for OmniPod should be the standard taught to all companies as they rock).

Y’all have failed to send me 2 months of supplies and have failed to return any of mine or my doctors calls. How many diabetics are you slowly killing by not getting the supplies to them. Absolutely ridiculous

I have called 3 times. I have only talked to one lady that told me she needed to send me a link through email to fill out paperwork. I have been ordering from them since February 2019. Not sure why paperwork needs to be done again. She never sent the link. I have left 2 voicemails. No one has gotten back to me. I have 2 weeks of supplies and not sure what to do to get them to respond.

The absolute worst company ever to deal with. They have a total staff of about 3 people, nobody ever answers their phones or returns calls, and can't get an order correct for the life of them! I would definitely use a different company but they are the only ones I can get my supplies from. THIS COMPANY SUCKS, AVOID THEM AT ANY COST!!!

Usually they’ve been great with getting back to me quickly and helping me out, but this past week it seems their standard has fallen. I’ve called multiple times, been told I’ll be called back, and then received no response. Especially when I’m spending over $500 before insurance, I expect better assistance.

I have had numerous issues with DSC when reordering supplies. Even trying to get my Dexcom CGM took over a month. I kept having to email the rep to get a status. Online ordering isn't good either. If there's an issue, no one contacts you. You wait days and then have to call to find out what the hold up is. If you call and don't get a rep and have to leave a VM, it takes days for someone to get back to you. They just can't seem to get it sorted out. I wouldn't recommend.

My spouse has been using this place since I’ve known her. I cannot believe the incompetence, the inflexibility, and greediness of a business who deals with such a serious condition as diabetes. As other reviews mention, they do not handle orders properly and consistently and they do not seem to be that knowledgeable for a place dedicated exclusively to diabetes. I believe they are still in business because there is not really a lot of competition in Omaha and because their patients’ lives, literally, depend on them. It is embarrassing and infuriating to witness how they consistently ruin my spouse’s days through their sloppiness.

My initial set-up for my Dexcom G6 was stellar. Very friendly and helpful staff. I was very pleased. Then it came time to reorder sensors. Customer service & interaction is absolutely horrible. Seems to be no way to talk to a live person, all options steer me to the same voice mail box. Leaving a voice message with all my details, as seemingly the only option, is not acceptable. I don't feel that I am being unreasonable when I want to actually talk to a human being. I did leave a message for that a day or two ago, and haven't heard back. A workable online option that already knows my insurance and discounts would be even better. Edit: Right after I posted this I tried again, using the 0 extension, and actually did get a live person, and got my re-order started, but I stand by my general criticism of the system. I needs serious work.

I am down to my last Omnipod. I have been trying to get more since last month. I was told I needed a PA this month, even though it was not needed the previous months. Fine, I got one. My doctor had to call 6 times to get any type of response! I have called two days in a row now, with no calls back. This is rude, unprofessional, and is putting my health, and life, on the line! Am I supposed to spend the weekend in the ER to get insulin to live? EDIT: Things drastically improved after this review. I got a call every month, asking if I wanted to place my order. It was truly awesome service. Then 2020 started. I am now back to zero communication from them, and apparently my email has been flagged as "suspicious". Once again, I'm down to 2 pods left, even though I placed my order back on the 11th. There is no in-between with this place. It's either stellar service, or absolutely zero contact, other than automated emails.

Update to my post..... Diabetes Supply Center seems to be working on customer service and is doing much better than previously stated. I appreciate the work that they have done to improve and am currently utilizing their services again.

I get all my Tandem t slim pump supplies here and my Dexcom G4 sensors. My orders are always ready within a day and I've never had any issues. The staff has been helpful and helps explain my insurance. They also host free diabetes expos and sell other diabetic supplies like GrifGrips, cases, glucose tabs, and socks.

I am so thankful for these ladies that helped me get my insulin pump. The communication was excellent; they would respond in a matter of minutes! Kristen was so kind and really did all the hard work so I didn't have to worry. She made sure I had everything insurance needed by keeping in touch by phone and email. They set me up with classes to ensure maximum diabetes control. They really know what they are talking about!! 5 stars and highly recommend using Diabetes Supply Center- Midlands. Thanks for all your help!!! :)

The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. At the first of the year when my deductibles started over they did everything they could to keep my costs down. They suggested and enrolled me in different discount cards. They also have informed me of new products that are coming out including the inhaled insulin. I recommend them to everyone that I know that has diabetes. It is also great that there efforts in the pharmacy help to fund the education center, which was crucial in getting my diabetes under control.
